The Forest Hills Cemetery and the Forest Hills Educational Trust PRESENT

A WALKING TOUR EVENT — with author and historian Dee Morris

Sunday, September 25th, 2022 at 2PM

Victorian Spiritualists believed that they could communicate with those who had “passed away.” Many of these extraordinary Bostonians chose Forest Hills to be their final earthly residence. Mrs. Frances Conant, a beloved Medium, shared her grave site with Luther Colby, editor of The Banner of Light newspaper where she held seances. Marcellus Ayer, a prosperous wholesale grocer, built the First Spiritual Temple on Exeter Street which later became an elegant movie house. This stroll celebrates a vibrant community that enjoyed reaching into Eternity.

Admission:
$15 for advance tickets AND on the day of the tour.

Tour meets at the Forest Hills Cemetery Visitor’s Circle.

This Walking Tour lasts up to 90 minutes with frequent stops over varied terrain. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.
