Forest Hills Cemetery welcomes families remembering loved ones during Ching Ming.
Celebrated in March and April.
The date is indicated on the Chinese calendar with two characters: ching, meaning pure or clean, and ming, meaning brightness. Combined together, Ching Ming means clean and just. This date is also indicated on traditional Japanese calendars, where their culture has a similar observance. In Korean culture, the observance is known as Hansik.
Please note that when observing at Forest Hills, all offerings will be removed daily.
We are pleased to announce our new Columbarium room, the Chapel of Grace, opened in October. The well-appointed Garden of Devotion, which opened last fall, has an excellent selection of burial locations still available.
