BURIAL OPTIONS

Forest Hills Cemetery has a wide array of available spaces ranging from single graves to larger family lots. In most cases both offer extra depth burial, which allows for two full burials in each grave. Four cremation burials can also be substituted for full casket burials. Mausoleum sites are another option, for people who wish to build a private family mausoleum.

Our newest sections, the Garden of Enduring Love, the Garden of Devotion, and the Garden of Meditation, offer these options in a setting designed to blend the old with the new. This area has been laid out to create breathtaking vistas, with a waterfall streaming down a magnificent ridge of Roxbury puddingstone into a pond graced with weeping willows. The ongoing evolution of Boston's diverse communities is reflected in the variety of memorials found in these areas. (The variety of memorials in these areas, and throughout the Cemetery, paint a picture of Greater Boston's harmonious and diverse communities.)

A limited number of sites are still available in various older sections of the Cemetery, including its most historic areas.

You are welcome to contact our staff to arrange a personal tour of the grounds and facilities, or you can explore on your own. Maps are available in the main office and the grounds are open every day (except select holidays) from dawn to dusk.
