PERPETUAL CARE

For over 150 years, care and maintenance has been a top priority at Forest Hills. Years ago, in order to ensure that it would remain a top priority into perpetuity the Board of Trustees established an endowment fund for this purpose. Today, one half the cost of any grave, lot, or niche that you purchase is directed into this investment fund to ensure perpetual care of the Cemetery's burial sites, buildings and grounds.

In addition, many individuals choose to enhance the burial site with various planting arrangements which can also be placed under perpetual care (see Flower Planting and Placement).

Cemeteries are not normally responsible for the maintenance of individual headstones, which remain the family's private property. At Forest Hills, additional arrangements can be made for a program of regular cleaning of a specific monument.
