Forest Hills Cemetery Honored at the 2019 African American Ball

Forest Hills Cemetery was honored to be the recipient of the Community Service Award at the 11th annual African American Ball, held at the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club of Roxbury, on February 23, 2019. The theme of the ball was “Empowering Families, Strengthening Communities.”   

The African American Ball is hosted by The Edward & Earlean Blakely Creative Arts Center, Inc. The Creative Arts Center has a scholarship foundation which offers scholarships to college students primarily interested in becoming future community leaders by encouraging them to seek educational goals and opportunities that enrich the lives of other people from underserved communities.  These scholarships target individuals attending four-year institutions throughout Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who exemplify academic success and show community involvement.
